Where does one begin with a title like this? Wow. At least I'm not averse to conducting the appropriate field research – when necessary, of course.

Here's one of two rough concepts offered up. The other concept will have to wait until I hear back from the interested parties. As this cover is the back-up option, I felt it was safe to share.

Turns out a book about Metallica might need some more rock and roll in the cover after all. Here's the next super-rough comp for this title. I'm going to try to push for a black gloss on black matte finish for the background image as a nod to their "Black Album" and help push the ticket to the front as I feel the word "Metallica" alone might grab the right people's attention.



Also, the years spanned in this book are '82 -'84, not '82 -'87 as previously stated. For all you sticklers out there...
