Movie Night

SPARKS is a Toronto-based film production company. The owner asked if I had any ideas for repackaging their reels. Companies like SPARKS send out hundreds of reels a year and as someone who works in advertising, and receives these reels, I could build a house out of those black plastic cases. So, I suggested card stock digipacks with a gloss UV on the logo etc. They're a bit nicer to hold and the smaller size makes a dramatic difference on the shelf. I'll post a shot when I get my hands on one.

Here's the outside of the case

and the inside

This design idea is now blowing out across all their materials, starting with their
cards.

The book cover jobs have slowed down a bit lately so this kind of traditional design work makes a nice change. This is my second film company identity program. The first was for Hooligan Filmworks, another local company. I'll post some of that work in the near future.

Stayin' Alive.

First in a series of three textbooks for a local academic publishing house. This volume focuses how to plan and prepare for emergencies. The next two volumes will deal with response and recovery. Went in a few directions with this one but was asked if it was possible to incorporate emergency iconography for a quicker read.

It's serious reading so I wanted to see if I could have a little fun with it.

It's at the printers now.
